The Net Gala is a project we began building way back early on when we were first starting NFTs, we thought it could be an interesting way for artists to control what they put out, get paid fairly, and really just bring value to the fans. So we went for it!
As early members in a lot of the Ethereum projects, we have deep connections to the communities there, so we dropped a song for the Bored Ape Yacht Club community, “Bored Ass Ape”, and it went over incredibly well. We released a total of three songs, just testing the waters and actually having fun with music again, and Net Gala became one of the top 15 music projects of all time on OpenSea. We did several collaborations and club nights with Gutter Cat Gang, etc. And we then realized the opportunity that NFTs could bring to other struggling artists and sought to make a collaborative community that helps educate and empower them to show them that they can be free to support themselves in their art.
We had the idea from the beginning to really expand this and make it something massive, so we started working on the bigger vision. We wanted a pass, like you’d get at a festival, and that would give you access to the music we dropped. And it started growing from there, but gas was such an issue for the types of projects and airdrops we wanted to build. When we found how easy Solana is to use it, we decided to make our project multi-chain and bring the party here.
We’re dropping 2,500 Net Gala Genesis Wristbands. Those bands give you different access levels to not only our music airdrops, but also the entire Galaverse we’re building. Our drops, shows, festivals, and some really amazing collabs.
Our main focus is creating a place for artists. For so long artists of really any kind have been stuck playing puppet, and this space has turned it around and made it so they can finally control their own career.
We’re going to start adding value to holders immediately with our first big music drop, NET GALA: SEASON 1.
A 15 song collaboration collection, tied to a 1,000 piece generative art project. Pieces of beautiful art, with different songs from the collective. Each song will be randomly assigned to one of these 1,000 pieces.
We’re a bi-product of living in a 40-year dinosaur of a business model that we call “The Music Industry ‘’ and guess what, times are changing. The world of web2.0 for an artist is limited, breaking off percentages left and right until the artist is left with less than 20% of their work; the heavy algorithms are NOT in favor of the artist or fan. And while 1% of artists truly make 100% of their income from this industry, we’re here to give back to the creators and change that narrative.
